No, we do not have the shirts yet. I got this email a few weeks ago.

The good news is we’ve received confirmation today that the fabric is scheduled to arrive from the mill sometime this week. The bad news is that it was originally supposed to be here two weeks ago. So what that means is that the cut & sew shop is going to have to hustle to get completed shirts to us by March 1st. We do however have assurances from them that they are ready and will get cranking as soon as they receive the fabric.

The wait is worth waiting for, besides it is not summer up here yet.

Here’s the latest (as of Monday, February 22, 2010):

The manufacturer informed me today that the fabric arrived late last week at the shop for cutting and sewing.

Several of you had responded to my last message stating that you’d rather NOT rush the cutting & sewing process; that quality was more important than timing at this point.  Both the manufacturer and I agree.

So, the new projection of when we will receive shirts is Thursday, March 4th. That means that the soonest we would be able to actually begin packaging and shipping shirts is likely Friday, March 5th.  We would expect to spend all day on Friday, and likely a large part of the weekend preparing shipments. So by Monday I would expect all current orders will be on their way.

So although we will be a few days behind schedule, I hope you will all agree that ultimately these shirts will be well worth the extra few days wait.

Aloha,
Tom Thompson

AND FURTHER....

We are still taking orders at the reduced "pre-order" price through noon Pacific Time this coming Sunday, Feb. 28th. After that shirts will be available at the regular price. We purchased enough material to make ~1200 shirts. We are currently cutting and sewing 600, and to date 237 of those have been pre-sold.

I don't expect to run-out of shirts for a while. The real issue with clothing of course is size; we could eventually start running-out of a specific size.

Aloha,
Tom Thompson

I got my shirt last night and plan to wear to work on Friday for dress down day. Some of us call it hawaiian day and wear a hawaiian shirt every Friday. This shirt will be well used, can't wait for all the comments!!!!!!!!!!!
